Career Opportunity: Town of Kyle Librarian
The Kyle Library is looking to hire for the position of Librarian.
This position is Monday to Thursday, 21 to 27.5 hours weekly.
Duties:
- Day to day library operations such as checking in and out books, shelving and pulling online requests.
- Development and implementation of youth and adult programming to promote reading and information literacy.
- Promotion of programs and events including in house decorations and displays and community notification though traditional and social media.
- Collaboration with Wheatland Regional Library Central Branch to provide various programs offered though Central.
- Patron support with accessing and using physical and digital resources.
- As secretary to the local Board, the Librarian attends regular board meetings (5 per year) and takes minutes.
- The Librarian is responsible for documentation as required and completion of annual reports.
Skills:
- Proficiency in computers is preferred. Basic word processing and email, learning the library system, and completion of online reporting are examples of duties required.
- Public relations and interpersonal skills. The Librarian works closely with the public of all ages.
- Ability to work independently.
The successful applicant will have paid training and ongoing professional development at the local and regional level.
